It is the dawning of a new era for the Los Angeles Sparks, one led by Nneka Ogwumike. LA is flying under the radar entering the 2021 WNBA season, but don’t sleep on a team that has a lot of pride and history to live up to.
Potential problems for the Sparks
No more big three

The elephant in the room in Los Angeles is that there is no more Candace Parker, a transcendent talent who was the face of the franchise. There is also no more Chelsea Gray (the Point Gawd), another huge star who was the third member of LA’s big three along with Parker and Nneka Ogwumike.

In the 2021 WNBA Draft, the Connecticut Sun got a dream scenario at No. 20 and could add two draft picks to their roster, the Chicago Sky got exactly what they needed plus a steal who should both make their roster, the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty did both did a solid job and the Indiana Fever followed up a dull free agency period without a home run in the draft. Here are our draft grades for the East:
Connecticut Sun (A-)
Picks: 20. DiJonai Carrington (Baylor Lady Bears), 21. Micaela Kelly (Central Michigan Chippewas), 30. Aleah Goodman (Oregon State Beavers)
You might notice fewer cows along Dairy Farm Road these days.
That s because the Hopkins family has downsized their operation and after 80 years no longer sells milk commercially.
And farm owner Walt Hopkins is turning over the operation to the next generation, with sisters Ingrid Hopkins and Amy Hopkins leading the way. “We ll let the next generation decide what happens next,” Walt said.
The family has sold 600 of its cows but still maintains a herd of over 400 at Green Acres Farm west of Lewes.
“We still have a dairy here, but we are not shipping milk,” Walt said.
Most of the cows were sold to a large dairy farm near Watertown in upstate New York, near Lake Ontario, while some ended up on farms in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
