A Memorial for Supt. Henry Jemmott in San Pedro
The death of Superintendent Henry Jemmott has hit his colleagues hard and also the many people of San Pedro who knew him over the years. While his most recent posting was as commander of precinct two at Eastern Division, today San Pedranos remembered him and his contribution to their community.

Around midday today, a shrine was set up at the San Pedro Police Station in the memory of Superintendent Henry Jemmott, its former commander who was shot dead last Friday on a pier south of the island town. Residents came out to write messages of condolences for the officer. Forty-two-year-old Jemmott was a career police officer who had been working with the department for over two decades. During his career, he was the Coastal Executive Officer for the department and was most recently transferred to head precinct two of the Eastern Division in Belize City. Alaia Belize Autograph Collection Officially Opens!
Tourism all over Belize took a serious hit over the past twelve to thirteen months, but tonight we can report on one sign of a pending recovery. Today, the first Marriott International property in Belize, the Alaia Belize Autograph Collection opened its door on San Pedro, Ambergris Caye. Its first seventy guests signed the register today and almost all of its one hundred and fifty rooms will be fully booked by May twentieth. News Five was there on Wednesday for the ribbon-cutting and last minute preparations to make everything shipshape for Alaia Belize’s first visitors.
