Maple Heights police car struck during pursuit of stolen vehicle

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio The driver of a stolen car struck a police vehicle while trying to elude officers before eventually crashing into a residence, police say.
There were no reports of injuries in the incident and the suspect was caught by police after the crash. Police say the suspect is a juvenile but did not release his age.
Officers were called to a Shell gas station at the corner of Warrensville Center and Libby roads about about 10:20 a.m. on a report of a possible carjacking. Police on their way to the station spotted the stolen vehicle on Broadway Avenue near Rockside Road.

At 10:55 a.m. April 3, police were called to the area of Lee Road and Shaker Boulevard on a report of a child walking about on railway tracks. Police found the boy, 6, who was unharmed.
The child’s mother, a Shaker Heights woman, 38, was cited for child endangering.
OVI: Lomond Boulevard
At 4:25 a.m. April 2, an officer came upon a crash scene in which a car had struck a tree in the 16000 block of Lomond Boulevard. Police checked for injuries and, in doing so, noticed that the driver, a Shaker Heights woman, 37, was intoxicated.
