Kyle and Jackie O have become the #1 breakfast show in Sydney for the first time, with the Australian Radio Network (ARN) show breaking their own record share, set last survey, to hit a monumental 15.5% share (+2.6 percentage points).
The KIIS 106.5 breakfast show went ahead of Ben Fordham on Nine’s 2GB, ending the latter’s 17-year run at #1, and despite the Fordham arresting his falling momentum with just a 0.2 point drop to keep a respectively 13.3% share of listening.
ARN CEO Ciaran Davis said: “Kyle & Jackie O are the best in the world at what they do and seeing them secure the overall #1 breakfast title in Sydney is testament to that and fully deserved.

Nine Radio’s 3AW continues to hold its sizable chunk of Melbourne’s radio audience, with the station keeping a 15.5% share overall, down just 0.1 points, and with Ross and Russell keeping their 20.1% breakfast share.
In further proof of AM radio’s ongoing strength in the market, ABC Melbourne was the biggest riser both overall and on breakfast, during a survey period (18 April to 26 June) that included yet another strict lockdown.
ABC Melbourne’s Sammy J, who replaced Sami Shah and Jacinta Parsons on the slot in 2020, grew his share by a significant 2.7 percentage points to reach a 13.8% share, one of only two breakfast shows in double digits (after 3AW).
