PASSENGERS on a new fleet of buses are being welcomed aboard by Keighley TV weatherman Paul Hudson. He is providing the voice to greet people using Transdev’s five new double-deckers operating the Cityzap express service. Mr Hudson, who was born in Keighley and attended the town’s Oakbank School, is best known for his forecasts on BBC Look North and local radio stations. Transdev, which runs Keighley Bus Company, has invested £1.4 million in the new British-built low-emission Sky Class vehicles. The company’s chief executive officer, Alex Hornby, said: “We believe Sky Class creates the ultimate travel experience and will attract people to switch from the car and train.
Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine will be lending her voice to a fleet of new luxury buses for the North West. The 14 newly built Witchway express buses will take passengers from East Lancashire to the heart of Manchester and have been created thanks to a £3.8 million investment by regional bus operator Transdev. Meanwhile Jennie, best known for playing Fiz Brown on ITV’s Coronation Street, will be providing a voiceover to welcoming passengers onto the buses.
