Minnesota State Mavericks Season Review
Following this accomplishment, the Mavericks won their first NCAA game in school history, defeating Quinnipiac in overtime. They shut out Minnesota University in the NCAA West Final and reached the Frozen Four for the first time.
Minnesota State eventually fell to St. Cloud, as a goal late in regulation would end the Mavericks hopes of advancing. This season, filled with quarantines, uncertainty, and unprecedented success, was one for the history books. Future Minnesota State University teams will be sure to try and model this one.

MANKATO, MN – For the first time, a South Dakota native has signed a contract with an NHL team.
Walker Duehr is from Sioux Falls. He played four seasons for Minnesota State, scoring 25 goals and 26 assists. Duehr had 10 goals and seven assists this year in his senior season. His college career ended on April 8 when the Mavericks lost in the NCAA Frozen Four to St. Cloud State. But soon after that, the Calgary Flames offered him an entry-level contract.
Duehr is expected to join the Flames’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Stockton Heat.
Gophers softball team sweeps Big Ten leader Northwestern The Gophers have the most victories in the Big Ten at 19.

The Gophers softball team won both ends of a doubleheader Sunday to complete an impressive four-game road sweep against host Northwestern, which entered the series in first place in the Big Ten with an 18-2 record.
Minnesota won the first game 2-1 in eight innings and the second game 10-4. The Gophers improved to 19-5, just percentage points behind first-place Michigan (16-4). Northwestern (18-6) fell to third place.
Eleven of the Gophers 12 runs on Sunday came by way of home runs, and two of the five blasts were provided by pinch-hitters Delanie Cox, a sophomore, and Chloe Evans, a freshman. Both were their first career hits as Gophers, and one was a game-winner.
