Reward offered in December disappearance of young Walker County woman

A reward is now being offered in the disappearance of a Walker County woman who has been missing since before Christmas.
Summer Lashay Buzbee, 23, was last Dec. 17 and formally reported missing on Dec. 21. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced a $2,500 reward for information that leads lawmen to her whereabouts.
Buzbee went to work in Jasper on Dec. 17th. She clocked out at 10:37 a.m. to check on a relative who was hurt in an accident and admitted to the hospital.
At some point that day, it appears that she lost her phone. The phone was later found near her place of employment and turned in to administration. Buzbee then used a friend’s phone to text a couple of people that she knew. That phone’s owner has been identified and is cooperating.
