CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Virginia men’s basketball team has earned a 4-seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament bracket, which was revealed on Sunday.
The Cavaliers will face 13-seed Ohio (16-7) in the opening round on Saturday at 7:15 pm at Indiana University’s Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Sam Hauser scored a game-high 24 points, and the No. 21 UVA men’s basketball team won 68-58 at Louisville on Saturday.
The Cavaliers (17-6, 13-4 ACC) are the ACC Regular Season Champions for the 10th time in program history, and the 5th under head coach Tony Bennett.

Virginia football has landed its first commitment for the Class of 2022.
Karson Gay, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound tight end from Boyd Buchanan School in Chattanooga, Tenn., announced his commitment Saturday afternoon on his Twitter account.
He chose Virginia over Virginia Tech, Southern Cal, Ole Miss, Indiana, Pitt, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Purde, Arkansas and BYU.
“I want to say thank you to my parents and family for helping me and going through this entire recruiting process,” Gay wrote. “Thank you to everyone at Boyd Buchanan from Coach Bosken and Coach Templeton to all my teammates and teachers for pushing me every day.
Softball: Virginia set to face Louisville, Pitt in ACC pod action

Update: Virginia’s softball game against Louisville that was originally scheduled for Thursday at NC State as part of this weekend’s ACC pod play has been canceled due to expected inclement weather in the area.
ACC pod play is set to resume on Friday (Feb. 19) when the Cavaliers (1-1) are scheduled to play Pittsburgh (0-2) in a 6 p.m. game at Duke. The game will be streamed on ACCNX and links to the stream and live stats are available at VirginiaSports.com.
