Roads in Waltham Abbey, Loughton, Chigwell and Nazeing to close for roadworks

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s Guardian details the order that came into effect on April 22 for the temporary closures of various lengths of road – some of more than a mile long – in Waltham Abbey, Loughton, Chigwell and Nazeing. In addition to the closures, temporary ‘no waiting, no loading and no stopping’ restrictions will be introduced along each section of road. Furthermore, the 7.5 tonne weight limit in that length of Sewardstone Road/Crooked Mile from the junction of Sewardstone Roundabout to the junction with Crooked Mile Roundabout in Waltham Abbey will also be temporarily suspended. The order is valid for 18 months from April 22 but exact dates when each section of works will take place will be specified on the one.network website.
