A WOMAN who has struggled with depression and anxiety all of her life says she is extremely frustrated with the mental health provision in the city after being left waiting to get help for over a year. Chris, 34, says she feels she is being ‘passed from pillar to post and never getting anywhere’ after reaching out for help. She believes the situation is ‘damaging’ and in some cases could even lead to fatalities. She said: “What I find most frustrating is how the mantra , when it comes to mental health, is that asking for help is the hardest part . So why is it that people in my situation don’t just have to ask for help once?

New data shows county women nearly twice as likely to be admitted to hospital for self-harm injuries HELP: Worcestershire Health and Care Trust has stressed there are services women who want help can access A WORCESTERSHIRE healthcare trust has stressed there are resources county women can access to get urgent help and advice, after new figures showed they were nearly twice as likely to be admitted to hospital for self-harm injuries. Public Health England data shows that the county had a rate of 209 admissions following self-harm per 100,000 women, compared with 119 per 100,000 men in the period of 2019 to 2020. And the figures show there were 910 admissions to hospital via A&E for self-harm injuries among residents of Worcestershire in that period.
