Stark Urban League appoints board chairman

CANTON – The Greater Stark County Urban League appointed Ralph Lee Jr. as board chairman at its annual meeting in July.
The board sets strategic direction and policy to guide the League’s work of advancing economic, health, educational and social progress for African Americans and the underserved.
Lee joined Kenan Advantage Group as chief human resources officer in 2017. Prior to joining Kenan Advantage, he served in human resource leadership positions at Total Quality Logistics, Cintas Corp. and Comair Airlines.
He is the chairman for the National Diversity Council for the American Red Cross and the Eric Snow YMCA. He is on the board of the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Health Foundation, and the Canton City Chamber of Commerce Executive Board.
Lumberjack Days in Stillwater canceled for second year in a row
STILLWATER, Minn. (FOX 9) - The annual Lumberjack Days event in Stillwater, Minnesota was canceled yet again.
Organizers of the event said they had to cancel due to a lack of sponsorship funds, particularly due to changing COVID-19 restrictions.

Lumberjack Days in Stillwater was canceled again this year, but the city says there are plenty of other attractions making for a busy summer.
The event was supposed to be held the weekend of July 24 and 25. The event organizers had not posted any promotions for the event on social media. Their website also did not list any updates for 2021 music acts or vendors. Organizers, a group called The Locals, did not respond to FOX 9’s request for comment.
