The 2021 NFL Draft is merely 60 days away! Let’s pass the time together until then by looking at who mock drafts have the Philadelphia Eagles taking with the No. 6 overall pick.
Ja’Marr Chase, WR,
After trading away Carson Wentz, 2020 second-round pick Jalen Hurts tops the Eagles’ quarterback depth chart. And my feeling is that he has earned a chance to start in Week 1 next season and try to be Philly’s long-term answer, even though he completed just 52% of his passes last season. The Eagles have major salary-cap issues, and this is not going to be a one-year rebuild for new coach Nick Sirianni. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re picking in the top 10 next year as well. Drafting Chase here will allow a better evaluation of Hurts in 2021; he’s a true No. 1 wideout with a high ceiling. After opting out of the 2020 season, Chase will get a cha
Chris Trapasso, CBSSports.com: Azeez Ojulari, LB, Georgia
Why: This is the highest you ll probably see Ojulari. But I really believe he s the super-explosive, bendy type of edge rusher who typically flies up boards during the pre-draft process.
Pete Prisco, CBSSports.com: DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama
Why: They will likely lose Kenny Golladay in free agency, so they need a young speed player outside. The big concern with Smith is size, but he can fly.
Nate Davis, USA Today: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
Why: A fair evaluation of the QB would entail having a No. 1 target on board – Waddle seems better suited to that role than slightly built Crimson Tide teammate DeVonta Smith – and Detroit could desperately need help with Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones unsigned.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Once upon a time, the Green Bay Packers had Randall Cobb as their slot receiver and returner. In 2020, even as they led the NFL in scoring, they threw unanswered Hail Mary’s to Tyler Ervin and Tavon Austin in hopes of getting production from the slot and as a returner.
While the Packers topped 30 points in 12 games and Aaron Rodgers won MVP honors, Davante Adams’ overwhelming dominance and the occasional big plays provided by Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard camouflaged the relative weakness of the team’s receiver corps.
Toney, as Harris put it, is one of the most dynamic receivers in this year’s draft. His do-it-all skill-set would give Matt LaFleur’s offense the X-factor it lacked. Like Cobb during his collegiate days at Kentucky, Toney has some quarterback background and is a weapon as a receiver, running back and returner.
