Tony Bellew makes bold Mike Tyson claim as he reacts to Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury announcement and explains why he believes AJ will become the undisputed heavyweight champion EXCLUSIVE Updated: 16th March 2021, 11:04 am
Tony Bellew claims Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are getting close to Mike Tyson’s level of superstardom.
On Monday, Eddie Hearn announced that both men have signed their contracts for an undisputed heavyweight title showdown this year. Getty Bellew believes the fight will be massive for boxing worldwide
Bellew reacted to the news on Fight Night Extra on talkSPORT 2: “Anthony Joshua is I think on par with Canelo as the face of our sport.
Canelo has in the past expressed his irritation at YouTubers in professional boxing and is no fan of either of the Paul brothers.
It is unclear at this stage whether this was a co-ordinated stunt to get back at Canelo, a planned ruse to promote the rival fight, or just a couple of random pranksters larking about.
Either way, boxing’s pound-for-pound king swiftly dealt with the situation himself, kicking both men out.
He then appeared to call them ‘f ers’ which was partially picked up as he turned back to his microphone to continue the interview. Ed Mulholland/Matchroom
