LEVITTOWN, NY A man was killed Thursday night after he was hit by a truck while crossing Wantagh Avenue in Levittown.
According to police, a 50-year-old man was walking his bicycle across the intersection at Hempstead Turnpike at 10:08 p.m. when he was hit by a Mac truck.
The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m. by a doctor.

WANTAGH, NY There was a fire Friday afternoon at a Wantagh nail salon.
The Wantagh Fire Department responded to the blaze at 1941 Wantagh Ave., just after noon. The fire was discovered by a tenant living above the nail salon shop who smelled smoke, a spokesperson for the Wantagh Fire Department told Patch.
A faulty exhaust fan at the Polish Nail Salon was the cause of the fire, Wantagh Fire Department said.

There were no injuries and firefighters had the location cleared within an hour, the Wantagh Fire Department said.
