Lois V. Harvey Daniel departed this life on Monday, Feb. 22, while under the home healthcare of her beloved son and daughter in love, Lorenzo and Eleanor Daniel of Dallas, TX. Lois Daniel had been a resident of Avera for over 85 years.
Lois Daniel was born on Nov. 29, 1929, in the village of Matthews. She was the first child born to the late William Harvey and Auldy Patterson Harvey. Lois grew up and worked on the Harvey Family Farm with her siblings and other family members. She was quite intentional about her quest for education and had to catch a train in Avera to attend High School in Wrens. At the age of 16, she matriculated at the Savannah State College in Savannah.

Two days to the end of the massive vaccination against yellow fever in Bauchi State, over 4 million people have so far been vaccinated out of the target audience of 7 million in the 19 out of the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
The disclosure was made by the State Director, Disease Control Immunisation of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), Mrs Lois Daniel, while giving an update of the exercise in Bauchi on Monday.
Lois Daniel explained that the exercise commenced on January 18 to end on January 27, 2021, adding that the exercise is targeting over 7 million people across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
