There has been much mention of the Duke’s mots, appropriate or otherwise, in the past few days. I have one to add.
Prince Philip was patron of both the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and the Vancouver Rowing Club. During the Royal visit in March 1983, the two clubs co-hosted an event at which the Duke was the guest of honour. Members of the two clubs were there, all dressed in club blazers and ties. The Duke was being introduced to various attendees.
