State health officials have said the goal is to have one mass vaccination site per emergency preparedness region, but the state is not receiving enough vaccine to meet the demand.

He says he offered to host the COVID-19 vaccine clinic for free. “Taking off my building owner hat and putting on my taxpayer hat finding out that they’re paying $12,000 a day or $360,000 for one month to use a portion of the building down there.it’s frustrating to me,” says DeltaPlex Owner Joel Langlois.

A large-scale clinic at DeVos Place convention center in downtown Grand Rapids is scheduled to open Monday as part of a partnership between the Kent County Health Department, Spectrum Health and Mercy Health Saint Mary’s. Initially, the clinic will have roughly 7,200 doses of the vaccine to distribute starting next week, with the goal of eventually ramping up to 20,000 doses a day. However, with the vaccine in high-demand and short-supply, it’s unclear when the clinic will be able to reach that goal.
