Slump-busting, Hinostroza s Return, Humboldt Strong, Bedard s Streak Ends, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

The Chicago Blackhawks enter the day on the outside lookin in at the Central Division playoff picture, two points behind the Nashville Predators for fourth-place in the Division and the final playoff spot. That could all change by the end of the night if the Blackhawks are able to top the Dallas Stars and the Predators fall to the Detroit Red Wings. But given the way all four teams have been playing, I’m not holding my breath. •   The Blackhawks have played the Dallas Stars the least amount of games this season, with a 3-1-0 record in their four meetings. They have the second-best points percentage against the Stars (.750) the season of any of their Central Division foes, behind only the Red Wings (.833). Funnily enough, the Blackhawks have been outscored by the Stars 10-9 in their four meetings this season.

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Jonathan Hayward REGINA - A Regina judge has reserved his decision on whether to delay one of the many lawsuits filed after the deadly Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Sixteen people were killed and 13 were injured when, on April 6, 2018, an inexperienced truck driver went through a stop sign and into the path of the bus at a rural intersection near Tisdale, Sask. Justice Graeme Mitchell said he s sensitive to how important the matter is. At one point during Friday s hearing, he struggled to know for certain how many individual lawsuits stemmed from the crash. At the core of Friday s hearing was a proposed class action and whether a lawsuit brought by five other parents shortly after the crash should wait until the courts decide if the class can go ahead.
