Appalachian State Softball Drops Doubleheader to Troy

The App State softball team fell in two close Sun Belt Conference games on Sunday, taking a 3-2 loss to Troy in game one and an 8-6 loss in game two. With the wins, Troy moves to 32-10, 15-3 in the conference. App State falls to 24-13 and 6-8 in Sun Belt play.
Game 1
The first game was a defensive battle as two of the top pitchers in the Sun Belt faced off with Troy’s Leanna Johnson and App State’s Kenzie Longanecker in the circle.

Even with limited capacity, Rhoads Stadium was rocking last weekend. Alabama capped a successful tournament with a rousing walk-off mercy rule win over LSU. The Tide hopes to carry on the momentum through the season.

Kaylee Tow was named SEC Player of the Week and
NATIONAL Player of the Week after hitting .786 over the course of the four games. She totaled 11 hits on 14 at bats with nine RBI and 7 runs scored.
