RUSTON, La. â No. 14 Louisiana Tech will continue its longest road trip of the 2021 season, heading to Miami for a four-game series at FIU.
Friday-Sunday s series will mark the seventh of eight four-game conference series in 2021. All Conference USA series this season will consist of four games, one nine-inning game on Friday, two seven-inning games on Saturday and one final nine-inning game on Sunday.
Game times for the conference series at FIU Baseball Stadium are 6 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Saturday s first contest of the doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. with the second game being played around 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Bates fifth home run of the season secured No. 14 LA Tech s 15th win at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in 2021.
After falling behind 3-1 in the third inning, Marshall (6-23, 2-15 C-USA) tallied a run in the seventh and in the eighth to tie Friday afternoon s contest at 3-3. A sacrifice fly from Travis Sankovich in the seventh and a solo shot from designated hitter Cyrus Grimes in the eighth knotted the game at three apiece entering the bottom of the eighth.

No. 13 LA Tech (25-8, 11-3 C-USA) knocked off Southern Miss 5-3 in the second game on Saturday, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth to break a 3-3 tie. The Bulldogs have now won 17 of their past 20 games and will have another opportunity on Sunday to win their fourth straight Conference USA series to open the 2021 season.
Southern Miss (22-11, 9-4 C-USA) won game one 4-3 in a back-and-forth contest at the Love Shack. USM s Reed Trible broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning with the Golden Eagles second homer of the first contest.

RUSTON, La. (WLOX) -A solo home run by Reed Trimble lifted Southern Miss to a game one 4-3 victory before Louisiana Tech rallied for a 5-3 win in the nightcap of a Conference USA doubleheader Saturday afternoon at J.C. Love Field.
Trimble led off the eighth inning with a blast to right for his eighth homer of the year. It was the second homer for the Golden Eagles in the opening game.
A solo home run by Hunter Wells in the opening frame, though, gave the nationally-ranked Bulldogs (24-8 overall, 10-3 in Conference USA) the initial lead.
