James N. Gamble Montessori High School is one of the nation s 27 Green Ribbon Schools awarded this year for promising sustainability practices, the U.S. Department of Education announced Thursday.
The U.S. Department of Education recognizes Green Ribbon Schools that strive to reduce environmental impact and costs, improve the health and wellness of schools, students and staff and provide effective environmental and sustainability education, according to the website. Gamble Montessori was the only Ohio school recognized in 2021. I am incredibly proud of our students, teachers, staff, parents and community. CLEVELAND, Ohio A winter storm that has a potential to dump 8 to 12 inches on the Cleveland and Akron areas has resulted in dozens of Northeast Ohio school districts canceling or delaying classes for Tuesday.
Several major school districts made the decision to cancel Tuesday’s classes by Monday evening, including Akron City Schools, Avon and Avon Lake schools, Canton City Schools, East Cleveland City Schools, Elyria City Schools, Eulclid City Schools, Mentor Exempted Village School District, and Shaker Heights Schools, to name just a few. Some districts in the area are closing buildings but will have remote classes on Tuesday, including Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools.
