Six-year-old grey belt Lewis Goulding is the only child in the whole UK who is still actively competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
He moved to The MMA Academy in Liverpool in March 2020 but after only two weeks there the country went into lockdown and the gym closed.
Lewis then joined in with gym classes via zoom twice a week with his coach Jason and in between this he was out on his rings in the back garden and practising moves on his dummy (or his dad).
Once outdoor gym sessions were allowed in July, Lewis went along to the classes four times a week which took place in any weather. He actually enjoyed the lessons in the rain!
