Five Kenyan churches were destroyed by fires last month.
The incident, which occurred in the town of Otamba, Kisii County, has caused concern among community members, Voice of the Martyrs reports.
10 arrests have been made in connection to the incident but the motive behind the attacks remains unknown.
St. Monica s Church was burned in the early morning of Jan. 21. The Worldwide Church, Nyang eni Seventh Day Adventist Church, Legario Maria Church and Otamba Pentecostal Church were also burned in the coming days.
Those responsible for the fires are believed to have thrown human feces at the burning buildings.

An association of churches and Christian clergy has demanded an investigation after unidentified arsonists destroyed five churches and threw human feces onto the buildings in one village in western Kenya, according to reports.
St. Monica Church in Otamba village in Nyaribari Chache area of Kisii County was burned on Jan. 20, followed by similar attacks on three other churches 100-member Worldwide Church, Seventh Day Adventist and Legio Maria the following day, Morning Star News reported.

(International Christian Concern)-International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that Five churches were set ablaze in quick succession between January 21st and 26th 2021 in Otamba, Kisii county, causing a lot of fear among residents. The first one torched was St. Monica Church in the early hours of January 21st. The Worldwide Church, Nyang’eni Seventh Day Adventist church and a Legio Maria church followed on January 23rd and 24th. Two days later, the arsonists broke into the Otamba Pentecostal Church compound and set it on fire leaving a trail of destruction.
