HCM City approved for one more place for New Year firework display
HCM City has been allowed to organise firework displays at one more location on New Year’s Eve.
The additional location is Saigon Hi-tech Park in District 9, which is aimed to mark the establishment of Thu Duc City. The city, which is the merger of districts 2, 9 and Thu Duc, will officially come into existence on March 1.
The low-range fireworks will be held at the park.
HCM City was earlier permitted to organise high-range firework displays at the entrance of Thu Thiem Tunnel in District 2 and at the 81-floor Landmark 81, Vietnam s tallest building on New Year’s Eve.

Vietnam’s Phuc praises security ministry for anti-corruption work

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has spoken highly of the Ministry of Public Security’s contributions to the fight against corruption of the whole country.
Addressing the conference to review corruption prevention and control work of the ministry on December 30, Phuc said the security force had played a key role in fighting against and investigating corruption cases.
According to Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant-General Le Quy Vuong, since 2013 when the ministry’s steering committee on anti-corruption, thrift practice and combating wastefulness was established, the ministry has prosecuted 1,856 corruption cases and 4,072 offenders, retrieving nearly 19.5 trillion dong ($846 million) and more than

Fight against corruption in Vietnam sees progress: 93% of survey participants

Up to 93 per cent of those surveyed expressed confidence in the Communist Party of Vietnam’s (CPV’s) leadership in the fight against corruption, according to a recent survey of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Publicity and Education.
The results were released at the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption’s national conference reviewing corruption prevention and control works during 2013-2020.
