View Comments West Buechel Police Chief Jim Sherrard has resigned after being suspended for bringing his wife with him as he responded to a high-speed chase and a shooting.  It is with deep regret that I will be resigning my position as the Chief of Police for the City of West Buechel, Sherrard wrote in the May 7 letter to West Buechel Mayor Brenda Moore. It was the highlight of my numerous years in Law Enforcement to be able to lead such a great group of Officers and serve a City government that was doing the right thing. His resignation was effective May 7.
