Carosello has been chosen as the 2021 School Resource Officer/D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year by the Ohio School Resource Officer Association. She will be honored at the group s annual conference, which runs June 21 to 23 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason near Cincinnati.
The association estimates there are about 1,000 school resource officers in Ohio.

Board of Education members and district officials received only a handful of questions from people in attendance. None of the questions were critical of the district or the levy request. Rather, they were supportive in nature.
For example, Matt Sibila wanted to know how he could help campaign for the levy. He and his wife have a daughter in the district. If you don t have a good school district, that messes everything up, Sibila said after the meeting. People don t want to move there. Property values don t go up. And your kids are not learning how they should be.
This weekend will mark Williams’ fourth consecutive appearance in the Canton Repository Regional Final Spelling Bee.
The winner will qualify to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Williams, of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Junior High School, won the bee last year, but the COVID-19 crisis scuttled his chance to hop on the stage at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
Ohio’s COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020 followed days after the Repository’s Regional Final Bee, which was held March 7, 2020. Gov. Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency on March 9, 2020; and Dr. Amy Acton signed an order prohibiting mass gatherings on March 12, 2020. The state’s schools were closed March 14, 2020.
