To see Alabama A&M senior quarterback Aqeel Glass drop back in the pocket and throw a pass to his receiver on the money, is to see one of the top signal callers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
His spectacular performance against Jackson State last Saturday is his latest example. Glass completed 27-of-40 passes for 440 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions in AAMUâs 52-43 win over Jackson State. Glass has been quite impressive on the national stage as the field general of the Bulldogsâ high-scoring offense.Â
He will be one of the players to watch on Saturday, April 17, when Alabama A&M (3-0 overall, 2-0 SWAC) faces Alabama State (3-2 overall, 3-1 SWAC) in the Magic City Classic at Legion Field. The kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

Jack Buford, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman who last played for the University of Missouri, said he is transferring to the University of New Mexico in a tweet on Twitter on Thursday.
Buford, who was rated a four-star recruit by ESPN and 247Sports out of Lutheran North High School in St. Louis, redshirted his freshman season at Mizzou in 2019. He opted out for the year early in the 2020 season, but changed his mind and rejoined the team later in the season. He appeared in the Tigersâ game against Vanderbilt as a guard. He announced he entered the transfer portal in February.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Jack Buford, a 6-4, 310 pound offensive lineman has signed with The University of New Mexico and will join the Lobo Football squad for the 2021 season. Buford played in 2020 as a redshirt freshman at Missouri.
Buford is the third SEC transfer to join the Lobos. Buford’s former teammate CJay Boone, a receiver, transferred to UNM and took part of spring practice, including having four grabs in the Spring Game. UNM recently announced the transfer of Kentucky’s Terry Wilson, UK’s starting quarterback for the past three seasons, into the program.
Buford played sparingly last season for Missouri as a redshirt freshman in 2020, originally opting out of the season. He returned, playing in one game, getting 13 snaps on offense and three on special teams, but he was a highly-touted high school recruit out of Lutheran North High School.
