11 Etna High students earn prestigious State FFA Degree

Eleven Etna High School FFA students were honored with the State FFA Degree – the highest degree in the state, earned by just 3% FFA members in California. The degree requires a time commitment of 500 hours, $1,000 earned, 25 hours of community service, and attendance at club activities.
Those who earned the honor at EHS for this year are Isaac Deppen, Parker Finley, Harli Gomes, Olivia Grassman, Grace Hullquist, Luke Jenner, Grace O Brien, Halayah Sherman, Mae Thackeray, Cobi Walker, Emma Watton.
Kellie and Jake Hargett run the FFA program at EHS.
Kellie Hargett said she is proud of the students, some of whom started their own business or worked at local businesses to help achieve their goal of earning $1,000. These students also helped teach elementary school students and other community service, Kellie said.
