Two Men Charged with Capital Murder in Auburn Teen's Death

Alabama News Updated: On February 17, around 9:21 am, Marcus Okeef Wigley, 35, of Auburn was apprehended in the 1200 block of Amy Court in Auburn by members of the United States Marshal Service, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Auburn Police Division. Wigley was arrested on a charge of Capital Murder in connection with the death of Thomas Anthony Green, 18, of Auburn. On September, 5 around 1:30 AM, Green was walking near the area of Foster Street and Clark Avenue in Auburn when he was assaulted and abducted by three black males. According to witnesses at the scene, the three males put Green in the back seat of a dark colored SUV and drove away. The witnesses were also able to identify three males to include Taharra Jaquay Brunson, 41, and Wigley, as taking part in the assault and kidnapping.

2 charged with capital murder in abduction and killing of 18-year-old in Auburn Updated Feb 17, 2021; Facebook Share Two men have now been charged with capital murder in last year’s abduction and killing of an 18-year-old who vanished while walking in Auburn. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday said Marcus Okeef Wigley, 35, and Taharra Jaquay Brunson, 41, are charged in the death of Thomas Anthony Green. Both men were previously arrested by Auburn police on kidnapping charges in connection with Green’s disappearance and since had made bond on those charges. Green, was reported missing to Auburn police on Sunday, Sept. 6 2020. He was last seen by a friend early Saturday, Sept. 5.

Austin Walls, 19, was taken into custody after the shooting was reported to the Lee County Sheriff s Office on Monday afternoon. In a news release, the sheriff s office said it received a report of a shooting at a residence on Lee Road near the Cusseta community in northeast Lee County at around 1.30 p.m. CST.
