Some parents calling for end to mask mandate in Hall schools Over a dozen parents sent emails for public comment during the Hall County school board meeting on April 26, 2021, and an online petition has been started asking for an end to the mask mandate for the upcoming school year.
More than a dozen emails from concerned parents were read aloud during the Hall County School board meeting on Monday, April 26. Their message was clear no mask mandate for next school year.
Aaron Turpin, Hall’s assistant superintendent of technology, read the letters aloud during the public comment portion of the meeting. Many remarked on how they believe mask-wearing has negatively affected children’s mental health. Each asked the board to dissolve the mask requirement for the 2021-2022 school year.
