A little bit of rain couldn t stop New York cool kids from dressing up in their 70s best to rage on for the Anti Racism Fund on Thursday. Hosted at pink-hued hot spot Short Stories, the disco-themed bash, co-chaired by Jenn Libert and ARF co-founder Lindsey Ferguson, was a welcome return to the dance floor in the name of social justice, with 100% of proceeds benefitting the platform and its mission.
A string of stylish guests blew bubbles and boogied down to the tunes of DJ Sirocco and DSCO while sipping specialty espresso martinis donated by Short Stories for the occasion. Those in need of a little sugar rush were in luck - Ring Pops, candy necklaces, and a treasure trove of sweets made up the bar and tablescapes, along with bubble blasters and old school neon glow sticks that everybody couldn t help but accessorize with. Distance runners from Saratoga Springs High School’s much-acclaimed girls’ program have another national record to their credit after a dominant performance Friday at the University of Oregon.
The all-underclassmen foursome of Ella Kurto, Alycia Hart, Mackenzie Hart and Emily Bush joined for a triumphant 19:40.67 in the championship division 4 x One Mile relay at The Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field to take down a long-standing mark in the event.

Lady Eagles Clinch Playoff Berth To Compete For Bi-District Title The Hillsboro High School varsity softball team nailed down the third seed in Class 11-4A after beating Alvarado 9-8 in the regular season finale in Alvarado Saturday, April 24. The win put the Lady Eagles district record at 4-4 and the season record at 8-12. Hillsboro head coach Ashley Currington credits her team s work ethic and dedication as key factors in producing a playoff berth. Currington s first season as head coach was last year, but due to COVID-19, the season was canceled. She said that delayed the development of the bond that a coach has with players.
