Earl “Wayne” Edwards, 75, of Breckenridge became another victim of Covid pneumonia and on January 11, 2021 went to join his Savior in heaven with his wife and loved ones by his side. Wayne was born to E. Andrew and Joyce Edwards on July 22, 1945 in Lubbock. He grew up as a farm boy in New Lynn, Texas where he first learned how to work hard. It’s a quality he never forgot. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1963.
He bought his first rent house when he was 19 and an insurance agency at 24. He worked as an independent agent in Slaton, built a tax business, got his broker’s license to sell real estate, and acquired numerous rent houses. After 20 years, he sold the agency and fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a ranch. He and Mary lived on the ranch south of Post for 20 years before selling it to ‘retire’ to the house they built 2 years earlier on Hubbard Lake.
