Stabbing in November 2018
On Nov. 15, 2018, Marion County Sheriff s Office deputies were called to a stabbing inside a travel trailer in the 16800 block of Southeast Ninth Street in Silver Springs.
When deputies arrived, they found Jeremiah Mills in the living room with stab wounds to the chest. Mills was taken to a hospital and died two days later. He was 19.
Jones was charged with second-degree murder.
Jones sought protection from Florida s stand your ground law, and hearings were held on May 19 and June 17.

Detective Billy Burleson interviewed Jones, who reportedly said he stabbed Mills because the victim jumped at him, according to the judge s written ruling.

The Town of Herndon and developers eyeing land near the soon-to-be opened Metro station agree that the area could be better prepared for the transit system’s arrival, but funding for an effort to determine what that future should look like remains a question.
The Herndon Town Council dipped a toe into that debate during a work session on Tuesday (July 6) with a discussion about redeveloping what’s known as the Transit-Related Growth Area (TRG).
That’s the area located between Herndon Parkway and the Dulles Toll Road. Just north of the immediate Herndon Transit-Oriented Core (HTOC), it sits within a walkable distance of a quarter to half mile away from the Herndon Metro station.
The inmate complained about smelling bleach. The incident was investigated and Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.
Pursuant to a plea bargain, Circuit Judge Lisa Herndon sentenced Williams, who pleaded guilty, to five years of probation and 600 hours of community service.
While on probation, Williams cannot work at any corrections, law enforcement or security place within the United States. Williams also cannot ask for early termination of her probation, and is forbidden to have any contact with the victim or any of the witnesses in the case, court records show.
The Florida Department of Corrections said Williams has been fired.

Herndon police have arrested two men in one week accused of sexually assaulting women during a massage.
HERNDON, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Herndon police have arrested two men in one week accused of sexually assaulting women during a massage.
In the latest case, police have charged Carlos Salvador Morales Lopez, 55, of aggravated sexual battery.
Police say Lopez, who lives in Herndon, has clients across the D.C. region and even in other states.
Lisa Herndon, Herndon police spokeswoman, said Lopez doesn’t do traditional massages but touts himself as a spiritual healer for both adults and children.
