Missing Woman Sought By Authorities, Assistance From Public Requested

Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman. On Wednesday (May 12) an investigation began into the missing persons report. The reporting party told officers 36-year-old Laura Kathryn Smith of Madison Street in Lincolnton was last seen leaving a West Highview Lane, Lincolnton, residence enroute to an appointment. The missing woman told the reporting party that she would be back shortly but never returned.
Deputies learned that Smith may be in the company of George Christian Settlemyre of Catawba County. She is described as a white female, 5’3″, 105 pounds. She has brownish/blond hair and brown eyes.

LINCOLNTON, N.C. Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives say they are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a woman who went missing in Lincolnton, N.C. on Wednesday.
Detectives say 36-year-old Laura Kathryn Smith was reported missing on May 12th, after she was last seen leaving a home on West Highview Lane to go to an appointment and never returned.

Authorities describe Smith as a White woman, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and 105 pounds with dirty blonde colored hair and brown eyes.
Detectives say Smith may be in the company of a man named George Christian Settlemyre of Catawba County.

UPDATE: According to a statement released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at about 2:30 this afternoon, Mr. Smith was found today in Georgia and is safe.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating an elderly Lincoln County man. The man has been identified as 84-year-old Robert Houston Smith of High Terrace Lane in Lincolnton. Mr. Smith was last seen leaving his residence around 11:30 a.m. Monday (May 3).
He is described as a white male wearing blue jeans, a light colored short sleeve button down shirt, and a black “Vietnam Veteran’s” cap. Smith is 5’5″, has brown hair, blue eyes and weighs around 180 pounds.
Wesley Lamire doesn’t know how her teenage daughter got out of her home late Tuesday night, but the mother said she desperately wants her back home.
Emergency crews from Lincoln, Cleveland, Gaston and Catawba counties - as well as members of the Highway Patrol’s air team - worked throughout the day on Wednesday to locate Lemire’s daughter, 13-year-old Taylor Falls, who was reported missing early Wednesday morning.
Taylor is described as around 5’3 and 115 pounds with short, curly hair and a chipped tooth.
According to police, Falls was last seen Tuesday around 11 p.m. at her home in Lincoln County. She is believed to be wearing dark colored pants and dark Vans shoes.
