The city of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is beginning Phase 2 implementation of the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center facility expansion plan.
Community members can provide input on the SpeakUp Austin ESB-MACC page in English or Spanish at speakupaustin.org/mas-macc. Feedback for the building program stage of implementation will be open through Feb. 7. The building design stage will begin shortly thereafter.
Current funding will allow for partial improvements under Phase 2 following the 2018 plan. Step one of the project will focus on the building program to identify which aspects of the 2018 plan can be implemented with the limited funds.
