9781467738194: Hare and Tortoise Race Across Israel - AbeBooks

synopsis may belong to another edition of this title. Review: Gehl uses the framework of Aesop s well-known fable to give readers a brief overview of some of Israel s cultural and topographical highlights. After visiting the beach, the opera, and musuems, Hare and Tortoise stage a race to the Dead Sea. While Hare dashes ahead, Tortoise takes time to say shalom to passersby. Want to share my falafel? he asks Hare innocently, after catching up to him midway through the race. Working in a milky, muted palette, Goudreau s crisply defined illustrations successfully capture Israel s urban bustle, geographic diversity, and leisure attractions, including the friends dip in the Dead Sea afterward. Slow and steady might win the race, Tortoise admits, but I m hot and sore, too.

Cal Poly Raymond J. Prince Endowment Reaches Initial Goal; Founders Recognized

Raymond J. Prince Cal Poly’s Raymond J. Prince Graphic Communication Future Leader Scholarship Endowment reached a milestone in its fundraising efforts by procuring an initial $30,000, in time to vest the endowment before the end of 2020. The endowment was established in honor of printing industry veteran Ray Prince, who passed away May 1, 2020. Cal Poly Professor Emeritus Harvey Levenson and Graphic Communication Department Advisory Board member Ray Hartman led the two-part endowment fund drive. The first part has been achieved. The second part, to raise an additional $70,000 by the end of 2021 to enhance the endowment’s annual earnings for student scholarships, is ongoing.
