New Qcy City Officials Sworn In; Council Okays Sidewalk Project
It was swearing in night for the Quincy City Council Monday.
New Mayor Mike Troup was sworn in, along with seven aldermen, including newcomers Greg Fletcher and Parker Freiburg, City Clerk Laura Oakman and City Treasurer Linda Moore.
The new council approved a nearly two-million dollar capitol bond project for sidewalks, storm drains and gutters on the west side of North 12th Street between Seminary Road and Kochs Lane, with the work to begin sometime in June.

The Quincy City Council Monday night appointed current Deputy City Clerk Laura Oakman to take over as City Clerk January 1st.
Oakman replaces Jenny Hayden, who is retiring as City Clerk the end of December.
Hayden has been clerk since 2003, but recently announced she was retiring to spend more time with her family.
Oakman will be running unopposed for a full term as clerk in the spring consolidated election.
