SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Itâs been said many times that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective. But St. Josephâs/Candler Health System officials believe they can prove it with new data from their vaccinated staff.
St. Josephâs/Candler has been vaccinating their employees for more than two months, and so far have seen positive results from their clinics.
âWeâre currently at 69.3 percent vaccination rate.â
âOur COVID related absences have dropped 54 percent.â

A group of runners have brought a little Christmas cheer to almost 100 children in Lichfield.
Members of Saxon Harriers running group teamed up with Shining Stars UK to hand out 96 selection boxes to families in need.

Daniel and Laura Floyd, who came up with and organised the delivery, said:
“It was very humbling to see the children’s faces as we delivered the boxes.
“It’s with great thanks to the whole team at Saxon Harriers and Shining Sstars that we have put a smile on faces around Lichfield this Christmas.”

Patients needing complex dental work might have to wait longer under new NHS targets, dentists warn.
The British Dental Association fears NHS England will impose penalties on practices that fail to reach 45% of their normal activity level, after negotiations broke down.
And practices may have to prioritise routine check-ups over more time-consuming treatments.
A check-up lasts 20 minutes - but an urgent filling takes about an hour.
An NHS official said: The NHS and the government are working to determine a safe and reasonable contractual arrangement with dentists, which recognises the constraints on practices and the need to maximise access for patients to see their dentist.
