LAKELAND, Ga. (WALB) - A man has been arrested in connection to a Lakeland homicide, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Roberts was arrested (Source: Lanier Co. Sheriff)
Lennon Roberts, Jr. aka “Bug,” 35, was arrested in connection to the death of Rodney Flowers, 47, on Wednesday. He was charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, tampering with evidence and second-degree arson, according to the GBI.

LANIER COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) â The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating after a 47-year-old man was found dead inside his Lakeland home with apparent injuries.
On Sunday, February 21, 2021, the GBI s Douglas Regional Office was requested by the Lakeland Police Department to conduct a death investigation.
On Feb. 21, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Lakeland Police Department responded to an apartment at 232 West Main Street to conduct a wellness check.
Upon arrival, officers found 47-year-old Rodney Flowers deceased with apparent injuries.
According to the report, Flowersâ body was transported to the GBI Medical Examinerâs Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine and document his injuries and cause of death. The final results are pending.
SGMC expands vaccination sites to Berrien, Lanier Counties

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) â South Georgia Medical Center announced Wednesday that it will expand its COVID-19 vaccination efforts to their Berrien and Lanier campuses beginning Jan. 25.
Vaccinations will be by appointment only and recipients must meet the qualifications outlined by the Georgia Department of Health, according to a press release.
Current eligible Georgians for the COVID-19 vaccine are:
Healthcare workers (physicians, nurses, laboratory technicians, EMS personnel, environmental services, etc.)
Residents and staff of long-term care facilities
Adults aged 65+ and their caregivers
Law enforcement, firefighters, first responders
