The City Council is expected to authorize purchasing the building housing the former San Joaquin Public Health Department clinic at 124 Sycamore Avenue and the adjoining 20 stall parking lot in downtown Manteca when they meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. during a Zoom meeting.

The positions are open to any adult Lathrop resident that is able to serve in the capacity that is needed. A seat on the Parks and Recreation Commission became available last month when Minnie “Cotton” Diallo was sworn in as a member of the Lathrop City Council. Diallo, who had run for council in previous elections, credited her experience on the commission and her work within the gears of local government for preparing her to assume the duties of an elected official.
