WVDNR accepting applications for McClintic WMA waterfowl hunt
ALUM CREEK, W.VA. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources is now accepting applications for a controlled waterfowl hunt at the McClintic Wildlife Management Area, located near Point Pleasant. Waterfowl hunters who wish to participate in the permit-only hunt must submit an application by midnight Aug. 15. Hunters may apply online at WVhunt.com by logging in and clicking “Enter A Lottery Drawing.” Successful applicants will be notified by mail by the second week of September. The controlled hunt will take place on a portion of McClintic WMA during the October split of West Virginia’s waterfowl season. Hunters who are successful in the lottery draw are randomly assigned a day to hunt and given an assigned hunting area, free of charge. Hunters are permitted to bring one guest. A shooting station is also available for physically challenged waterfowl hunters.

The Illinois Lottery will handle the drawings, which will continue throughout the summer. All Illinois residents who have been vaccinated are automatically entered to win. The prize money will be paid from federal grants Illinois has received to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $1 million drawing on Thursday next week will be among three $1 million jackpots and 40 $100,000 cash prizes. After July 8th, three winners of $100,000 cash prizes will be chosen every Monday between July 12th and August 16th from a statewide pool.
On August 12th, 22 winners from regional drawings will be picked. Two winners will be drawn from each of the 11 regions in Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois reopening plan.

2021 Moose Permit Lottery Application Deadline This Week
Applications are still being accepted for the 2021 Moose Permit Lottery, but the deadline is quickly approaching.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is accepting applications for the 2021 Moose Permit Lottery. You have until, Thursday, May 13, to apply. Applications are only being accepted online. Once completed, you ll receive a confirmation email indicating that you successfully entered.
When filling out the moose lottery application this year, hunters can choose to take part in the Adaptive Unit Hunt. The special hunt helps biologists determine if moose density reduction can break or lessen winter tick impacts to moose in Maine.
