SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Friday announced 1,645 additional COVID-19 cases and 30 deaths. As of today, there are 703 individuals hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19. This number may include individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 out of state but are currently hospitalized in New Mexico. This number does not include New Mexicans who tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been transferred to a hospital out of state.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

1 new case in Catron County
76 new cases in Chaves County
22 new cases in Cibola County

Los Alamos County reports 11 more cases today … the total is now 284 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update includes 41 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

434 new cases in Bernalillo County
76 new cases in Chaves County
34 new cases in Cibola County
11 new cases in Colfax County

The state Department of Health reported 1,684 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and 41 additional deaths related to the disease.
Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Thursday, with 434. Four other counties had 100 or more new cases: San Juan County with 196; Sandoval County with 121; Doña Ana and Lea counties with 118.
On Thursday, the department reported 803 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 11 people since Wednesday. This could include those from other states who are hospitalized in New Mexico, but would not include New Mexicans who are hospitalized out of state.

State health officials reported 1,465 new cases of COVID-19 on Christmas Day Friday. The state has now identified 136,622 cases of the disease since the start of the pandemic in March.
Bernalillo County had the most new cases, with 428. Three other counties had more than 100 new cases: San Juan County (167), Doña Ana County (145) and Chaves County (108). The state also reported 2 new cases among inmates held by the New Mexico Corrections Department across two facilities.
The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) also reported 36 deaths related to the illness. A total of 2,307 have died with COVID-19 since March.
