Public Safety Telecommunicators are the dedicated professionals who answer 911 calls from citizens, process requests for service, and utilize technical skills to provide communications support to law enforcement, fire and rescue departments and emergency medical services. This week in April is dedicated to America’s truly “First-First Responders” who serve our communities as public safety telecommunicators. These “technology” responders have shown extra commitment and dedication during the many difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Nashville Christmas Day bombing.

Holly Vantrease: Police ID woman found dead in South Nashville

Nashville police identified a woman they believe was fatally shot while inside a car in South Nashville as Holly Vantrease, 27, of Nashville. Police believe she was shot Tuesday night near the 200 block of Tampa Drive and dumped in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Paragon Mills Road, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.  MNPD said it worked with the Lavergne Police Department to recover the car in which Vantrease was riding and questioned a witness who was with the car. The car was impounded and being examined at an MNPD laboratory.

Drive-by Shootings in LaVergne Area - Can You Help Police? Mar 15, 2021 at 07:49 am by WGNS (La Vergne, Tenn.) Police are on the lookout for suspects who are accused of being involved in multiple targeted drive by shootings that occurred on Mable Drive and R.G. Buchanan in LaVergne. The LaVergne Police Department told WGNS NEWS, These events happened on 03/10/21 and 03/14/21 (Wednesday and Sunday). The vehicle involved was a Kia Soul that appeared to be black or a dark gray in color.  A second vehicle was white in color and could possibly be a Nissan Altima, Maxima or Toyota Camry.  Authorities tell WGNS that the subjects in the two suspect vehicles are to be considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking the public NOT TO APPROACH the subjects if you see the vehicles in question, but instead call law enforcement.
