A 27-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison after admitting to a shooting that injured seven people at an East Lubbock motel four years ago.
Adrian Vicente Castillo, who has been held at the Lubbock County Detention Center since his April 4, 2017 arrest, pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury, a second-degree felony that a punishment of two to 20 years in prison.
As part of his plea, the remaining six counts of aggravated assault filed against him were dismissed.
Castillo s charge stems from a Lubbock police investigation into an April 3, 2017, shooting at the former Villa Town motel in the 5400 block of South Avenue Q Drive.
