Plan for multi-storey residential development fronting onto Lough Atalia 17 May 2021 print Galway Bay fm newsroom – Plans have been lodged for a six storey plus penthouse level apartment building fronting onto Lough Atalia. The application is led by Patrick Ryan, with the development located at the rear of Forster Street House, 48 Forster Street and fronting onto Lough Atalia. The site contains a protected structure as identified in the Galway City Development Plan. The building would involve 18 units which includes 12 two-bed and 6 one-bed units. City planners are due to make a decision in early June.

Galway Bay FM 23 February 2021 print Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway City Council has agreed to a variation of the City Development Plan to support specific projects outlined in the Galway Transport Strategy. The variation was adopted at last evening’s Local Authority meeting and will see the creation of a new junction at the intersection between College Road and Lough Atalia Road. The adopted variations to the city development plan 2017-2023 contain two parts. The first relates a minor realignment of the Cross City Link located between College Road and Lough Atalia Road to provide for a link through recreation and amenity zoned lands.
