Tuolumne County Nearing Move To Yellow Tier

Tuolumne County Public Health Department Sonora, CA The County of Tuolumne is still in the orange moderate tier when it comes to COVID-19 restrictions. This issue was discussed at today’s board of supervisors meeting. A week ago Tuolumne County dropped to the level of cases needed to move to the yellow tier, but it must remain there for two consecutive weeks to take effect. Interim Health Officer Dr. Eric Sergienko states, “The past week was right on the line and may keep Tuolumne County in the orange.” The county is hoping for a move to yellow in the coming weeks.  He adds, “We’re flirting with the boundary between orange and yellow.”

CVS Latest To Offer COVID-19 Vaccine Locally

Updated Medical - vaccine Sonora, CA Select CVS stores in California, including those in Sonora, Angels Camp and Jackson are the latest to offer free COVID-19 vaccine through a federal program. In late December Governor Gavin Newsom announced that CVS and Walgreens were picked to take part in a federal pharmacy partnership to help administer vaccines in the state. There is no cost to get the vaccine with insurance or through a federal program for the uninsured. The company joins Adventist Health Sonora, the Tuolumne County Public Health Department, Mark Twain Medical Center and the VA clinic in offering shots locally.

AHS Plans Clinic for Overbooked Appointments To Get COVID-19 Shots

COVID-19 vaccine Sonora, CA – Adventist Health Sonora has scheduled a new weekend clinic to vaccinate more than 500 Tuolumne County residents booted from last Saturday’s clinic due to a computer glitch that left them with no shot and no new date to get one. As reported here, when that clinic was opened to those 65 and older the website was overwhelmed, and the scheduling system malfunctioned overbooking 550 appointments. In a press release given out late today, hospital officials detailed, “During the week of February 15, representatives from Adventist Health Sonora will be calling all 550 people and rescheduling them, with 275 appointments available on Saturday, February 20, and 275 appointments available on Sunday, February 21.”
