He died at his home in Byron Bay, on the NSW North Coast, with his wife, Delvene Delaney, and eldest daughter by his side, and his youngest daughter on the phone from Britain.

It’s a humid autumn morning and I can’t take my eyes off the beads of sweat rolling down Michael Yabsley’s brow. Sitting in his eclectic apartment in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, the former Liberal firebrand and antiques collector pours me a steaming cup of English Breakfast. He offers a melting moment to go with the tea, which is served in an elegant white porcelain cup and saucer. “Store-bought,” he says sheepishly, referring to the biscuit. Not that I would expect the man once described as the NSW Liberals’ much-feared “pet assassin” to have whipped up a batch of bikkies. We share an awkward chuckle.

WASHINGTON (AP) Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has probably toured more COVID-19 vaccination centers than he ever imagined.
If he ever imagined that at all.
His drop-ins at places where people are rolling up their sleeves for a jab of protection have become a particular focus for Emhoff as he begins to shape his groundbreaking role as SGOTUS the first “second gentleman of the United States.”
It’s a sharp pivot from his past work as an entertainment lawyer.
