A cooling station is opening up in Claremore as a response to the 95 degree heat indexes.
First United Methodist Church partnered with the Rogers County Sheriffâs Department to provide a cool place to go at the West Campus, located at 9472 E. Highway 20.

The OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children grant awarded is just shy of $3,000 and will fund the purchase of a computer.
According to their site, âThe OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit is one of 63 regional task forces throughout the United States that are funded in part by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The National ICAC Task Force Program was established by federal law in 1998 and the OSBI ICAC Unit and the subsequent Oklahoma State Task Force was authorized by statute in 2006 and has been in continuous operation ever since.
Man In Custody After Shooting Woman, Firing At Rogers County Deputies
The Rogers County Sheriff said a man is in custody after shooting a woman in the foot and shooting at deputies.
Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton said neighbors called 911 after seeing the suspect, Andre Harris, beating a woman in the front yard of a home near Highway 20 and 4120 Road in Claremore. Witnesses said they also heard shots.
Harris is accused of shooting twice at the first deputy who got there, then tried to run but was caught by deputies.
Harris family made national headlines in 2015 when his brother, Eric Harris, was mistakenly shot and killed by former Tulsa County reserve deputy Bob Bates.
