Defence: 13 bank transactions have no links to 1MDB, just "normal" monetary transfer between husband and wife

KUALA LUMPUR: The 13 bank transactions involving the accounts of Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng and his wife had no links to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), the High Court heard.
Lawyer Datuk Tan Hock Chuan, who represented Ng and his wife Lim Hwee Bin, said the monies that flowed into the bank accounts did not come from 1MDB and that there were bank documents to back it up.
He was submitting at the hearing of the government’s 1MDB-linked forfeiture suit against the couple and 16 others, which included Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the former prime minister’s family. ....

Ex-Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng expected back in M'sia after June 1 to face 1MDB-related charges


KUALA LUMPUR: Former Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng (
pic), who has been extradited to the United States to face charges related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) there, is expected to be back in Malaysia after June 1.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Norinna Bahadun told the High Court that Ng will be in the country after June 1 based on an application by the US Department of Justice (DoJ).
At the High Court here, Ng - whose birth name is Ng Chong Hwa - is facing four counts of abetting Goldman Sachs pertaining to the sale of guaranteed notes and bonds belonging to a 1MDB subsidiary, amounting to US$6.5bil (RM26.7bil), by omitting material facts and making false statements. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 Former Goldman Sachs officer, Roger Ng Chong Hwa who was extradited to New York will be returning to Malaysia after June 1 to face charges of abetting with company on the sale of securities notes and bonds valued at US$6.5 billion (RM26.7 billion) belonging to a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
The matter was announced by deputy public prosecutor Norinna Bahadun during case management before High Court Judge Datuk Muhammad Jamil Hussin today. ....
