Vaccine s arrival in northeast Indiana offers hope an important corner is being turned
After six Parkview health care workers received the state s first COVID-19 vaccines Dec. 14, memorabilia was gathered to document the historic event.
A Facebook post a few days later from The History Center shows a syringe and a vial from which the vaccine – among the first given in the U.S. – was taken.
“Public historians do not exclusively operate in the distant recesses of yesteryear, but rather with foresight, cooperation and an appreciation for the past, momentous history can be captured in real-time,” the post says.
